Changing temperature controls for a smoother operation

I just bought a new g3. read about fixing the not-so-smooth operation of the phone. I understand the main option to do that is changing the temperature control using developer codes. (the other option of changing to ART isnt available to me since i understand my phone already runs it).

The question is, i assume changing temp controls voids the warranty, and im not keen on doing this.

If i do make this change, is there a chance it will my phone will overheat and suffer damage? (i live in a pretty hot climate) is the change reversible? Can a lab detect these sort of changes?

I wouldn't change that setting myself, except as a brief experiment, but LG Support may be able to give you more advice about it. I believe that I did in fact try it in the early days of this forum, and found that it made no noticeable difference; but any lag on my G3 disappeared long ago, possibly due to a firmware update, so the other thing is no longer relevant in my case.
