Settings > Applications > Development there's a setting for device hostname. Don't know if that's what ya need or not.

Updating for archival purposes, since this page appears at the top of many web searches concerning changing the Hostname.

On ICS/JellyBean and most likely KitKat (not 100% as I don't have it yet), the Hostname can easily be changed hy going into Settings > Developer Options and then changing it in there.

OR you can use this method which should work across all Android versions (all the following require root access, there may be other non root methods available, you might find it in Settings > Applications > Development)

Use a File Manager app like Root Explorer and open up "/system/build.prop". Add this at the bottom "net.hostname=NewHostname". Make sure to leave a blank line at the bottom of build.prop, then save the file. On the next reboot it should be set.

If you just want to temporarily change your Hostname, or used the above method and want to set the new Hostname that you just set without having to rebooot, then use a Terminal app (ConnectBot, Terminal, etc) and type:

Code:
su
setprop net.hostname [I]NewHostname[/I]
