Has anyone had any experience with Sprint and their rates to jump up your upgrade date?
In other words, you can pay Sprint to move up the date of your phone upgrade.
Is there a certain amount per month or something?

My upgrade date is September 1st so I was wondering on how much it would be for me to move that up to May 1st, for example.

Any info and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :D

You could try calling sprint and asking them how much it would be to buy out the remandier of your contract. that would cancel your contract and allow you to upgrade here and now.

That is also a good way to look at it. :)
I will talk to them once the phone I want, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, comes out and then I will proceed to make that call.

I was just wondering about other people's experience going through this particular situation so I am prepared once I decide to call Sprint.

Thanks.

It's a brand new program but not available everywhere. You would need to speak to customer service for specifics.

I have never once heard of this. Been with sprint for the better part of a decade.

Info in other forums found me this:

Sprint's "Upgrade Now" Program Will Allow Early Upgrade Buyout

It is available through Sprint Customer Service or Corporate stores only.

I talked to Customer Service last night and it is a good option to basically "buy out" the rest of your contract.
Of course, you will need to sign a new 2-year contract when you get a new phone, but that is what you would do anyway, so no biggie.
From what I was told, there is no end date on this program.

I plan on doing this once the Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes out. :)

my sister just paid 49bucks to get out of her contract(18months or so in) so she could get a gs2.

That is what I like to hear. Once the phone I want comes out, I will put this plan into action.

No end date on this program? it says right in the first paragraph "The program is set to run for two months between February 12 and April 14 but there is no official announcement yet from Sprint's side." and the same start/end dates are shown in the screen shot as well.

I am just going by what I was told by Sprint Corporate Customer Service. The dates may be a test program in certain markets, buy that is my guess. As there is "no official word" from Sprint, the info is not confirmed.
If the Galaxy Nexus is not out, or has a release day by the "end date" I am going to call again to make sure.

Read more don't upgrade now. Wait till LTE phones appear.

That's my plan.
Gonna wait until the Galaxy Nexus is out, call them up and proceed accordingly.
Still thinking middle of April. :)
