What amp does the Note need to charge while in a vehicle?

I got an Enercell auto power outlet doohickey that has an USB port. According to RadioShack website (where I got it), it is a 5 volt, 1amp. I use it to charge my Galaxy SIII phone just fine, although slower than when at home in the wall but faster than when plugged into computer.

Today I was waiting in the truck and using my Note tablet. I took the cord (the one it came with) from the bag and plugged it into the USB port. But it didn't charge it.

Ah, so it needs 2 amp. Would it still work with the GS3?

Never mind. I saw the "compatible devices" link and the S3 is listed. Cool.

You know you can buy it from them for half price? just register your device and they'll send you a 50% off discount for accessories which makes it a fantastic deal for genuine products.

I did register it (I always do that sort of thing) but I don't think I got any kind of discount. I'll have to poke around in my emails to find it.
