Charger wattage - can I go more than 25 watts on S22

I have had the hardest time getting an answer to this simple question.

Just got the SR22 (not the plus or ultra) I keep seeing reference to the 25 watt charger. On page 10 of the manual it says a 25 watt charger is "recommended."

I have an Anker PowerPort III Duo Type C Foldable Fast Charger which is a 36 watt charger. Is it OK to use that charger to charge my SR22? I like it especially for travel since I can charge my Ipad and my phone with it. I am not concerned with getting the fastest time to a full charge as long as it is reasonable.

Thanks to anyone who can help me get this question answered.

Yes you can, AFAIK. You could plug in a 100watt charger and be confident that no damage would be done. The phone will only draw as much power as it can handle. I have a 65 watt One+ charger and one of those watt-displaying LED USB-C cables. It appears that my phone will only draw 30 watts off that 65-watt charger. I don't believe the S22 is different in this regard.

Yes you can, it won't cause any issues.

Although I am wondering why you're putting an R in S22...

I carry the newer Ankar Nano II 45W charger around same reason as you... charges my S22U, iPad Pro, MacBook Air or Lenovo T480S laptop... one small USB-C charger to charge them all.

All these devices now-a-days will regulate the power needed. I've charged all my devices using my Lenovo 65W at times and no problem.

Yes. Your phone will only take in its maximum allowance of 25w, even from a charger that is capable of putting out much more. Use it, no need to worry.

Only the plus and ultra does 45W charging. 25W for s22 and 15W for the flip 3

When I got my S22+, I purchased 2 45-watt chargers - one for office, one for travel. I know that they are really only incrementally faster than the 25-watt chargers, or even much lower powered chargers from years back - but I easily notice the difference, and it's welcomed when it needs a charge and I have little time to accomplish that - like when I am about to run out somewhere. On eBay, I got OEM 45-watt chargers for about $20 apiece. If you happen to purchase or use a different cable than the one that came with the phone, be sure it is compliant with higher-wattage power delivery.

And as posted above, your phone will draw only the amount of current it needs, which changes as it charges - so you are good.
