Charging Edge+ via the previous Round Samsung Wireless Charging Pad (for the S6 Edge originally)

i'm certain that swapping for another S6 Edge+ wouldn't matter, i.e. it would exhibit the same behavior.

reason? too many others here on this forum is reporting the same symptoms.

i personally wouldn't bother because it takes time and effort to personalize every new phone, plus, if yours is doing well in everything else, how do you know if the newly swapped unit has more issues that are not present in your current unit?

Some one in the note 5 forums stated that the charging plug that came with the samsung wireless charger wasn't pulling enough juice and they tried it with the white charging plug that came with the phone and that it worked fine for them I'm gonna try that tonight...

the real question is:

whether our fancy schmancy brand new S6 Edge+ will work flawlessly with the NEW Fast Wireless Charger?

it is on display at the Samsung Galaxy Store here in NYC but it wasn't plugged in (display units).

even though i bought two of the previous wireless charging pads (i.e. merely 4 months ago), i'm still ok to swallow the additional cost of the two new fast wireless charging pads as they have made improvements in charging speed, so with progress, it's tough to blame them to come out with yet another model. definitely a bummer though that it won't even charge at the old slower speed with the previous charger!! it HAS to be backwards compatible because it is Qi compatible! I have no idea what's going on.

well, the true test is how well it works with the new Fast Wireless Charging pads, i suppose.2015-08-24 17.26.23.jpg

The Fast Charging Wireless Pad is not out yet. It shows as "Coming Soon" on their website. I have thought about exactly what you mention above, and only getting the normal one for my night stand and a Fast Charge Pad for the office. It seems to be the way to go.

Samsung rep told me the pad is supposed to be released when the phone is officially released- Friday. Likewise, the Mobile protection plan through Samsung will be available on their website on Friday as well.

Now it's available to buy

@brancross:

it is not available to buy on Samsung.com. Where did you see it as available to buy currently?

please note: this is the new FAST Wireless Charging pad we're discussing, not the previous (merely 4 months old) Wireless Charging pad (non-fast).

your other question: the Samsung Galaxy "experience" store is on Prince Street in NYC, near West Broadway (not Broadway, but WEST Broadway).

I have the same problem. the previous wireless charging pad designed for the S6 and S6 edge is not working correctly on my S6 Edge Plus. My old Nokia DT900 puck works perfect on the phone, so i'm guessing the older wireless charging pads are problematic on the new phones.

how would we know if the upcoming new FAST Wireless Charging pad from Samsung will work?

sheesh, you'd think they tested these things prior to release!

Yeah, no one knows for sure until it is released. I do know one thing, the wireless pad on the S6 Edge Plus does not appear to be centered on the phone, I believe the sweet spot is somewhere near the camera lens. Maybe half an inch down from the camera lens. If you place it centered on the old charging pad, there may not be a good connection. You can try placing the phone on the pad offset and closer to the camera lens. I already returned my charging pad so I didn't get a chance to do this experiment.

Went into my office today and tried the phone on my cheap $6 wireless charger I brought from Amazon for my nexus 6 and wireless charging worked with no problem whatsoever and charged the phone pretty fast! I had tried other Samsung chargers as well as my Nexus adaptor with the Samsung wireless pad and no dice, i think that the charging coils in the old Samsung wireless charger combined with its adaptor isn't big enough the $6 one I have is about the size of the edge + itself.

I have the same problem with my Galaxy S6 edge +. I bought it

in Best Buy. Wireless charging on Samsung charger works for a few minutes then Samsung charger blinks and stops working.
I went to Best Buy and exchanged charger, the same result, does not work.

the strange thing is that Samsung doesn't seem to read or realize any of this!

there is no "Samsung Information Central" to float this info up to! You'd think that there is some place where significant issues may be asked - it'd be like a direct input from their best focus group: their customers! Crowdsourcing of problematic areas seems to be the best way to get such information.

but no, they don't have any way for us to get in touch with them. sad. frustrating.

Call and complain or return and/or Exchange they won't know there is a problem if they are never contacted about it.
