[Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

130lbs of steel vs. thumb.

5hrs in a busy emergency ward (only place with an xray machine) 4xrays. Not broken. Possibly minor chip, mostly swollen and bruised

My day started at 530am... Add to that 5.5hrs work and a friend's funeral, and I'm beat. Goodnight everyone. Really hope tomorrow is a normal day.

baseball is my favorite sport, followed by football and basketball. i guess distance 4ths would be golf and hockey tied. probably golf over hockey to be honest.

anyway - new year for baseball, I'm extremely excited to watch tha Amazins', and get the f done with school for the smester!

see yas tomorro!

I can't wrap my head around baseball being serious when there's 191 games to a season or something like that. If you win today, but lose tomorrow, does it matter six weeks from now when you've added another 10 games to your win/loss ratio.

This is why football is much more exciting to me, every week is crucial. Then again, being a fan of hockey doesn't make sense with an elongated schedule, either, but there's fights! :P

The Baltimore Orioles (my hometown team) finished 2 games behind the Yankees last year, which gave the Yankees home field advantage in the playoff series between the two teams, which the Yankees ended up winning 3 games to 2. And that was after the Orioles had to play a one game playoff with Texas to determine who would go to the next round to play the Yankees.

So a win or two more for the Orioles at any point in the season, coupled with a loss or two for the Yankees could have changed the entire playoff picture for every team I mentioned. So each game is very important, making every inning, every pitch, important to a certain degree, which can be exciting from a certain perspective. Despite this, I can see how most of the time baseball can be incredibly boring, unless you are a real die-hard fan of the game.

Edit: If you're team perennially stinks, or is out of the playoff picture by the end of May, (both of which have been true for the Orioles for 15 years until last year), baseball is almost always boring for the casual or non-fan.
