[Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

I can't stand interviews! Gah! Just finished one for two positions of management. Need to put it behind me and let it fall where it may!

What are you looking for in a PC? I have an HP Notebook 2000 with an i3 processor, and it doesn't miss a beat. And it was only... $430 ish. For a little extra you can get something pretty nice.

Newegg.com - Acer Aspire E1-521-11204G50Mnks 15.6" LED Notebook - AMD E-Series E1-1200 1.40 GHz

Don't freak out about the processor speed. It's dual-core. I have a 1.8hgz Celeron, and the thing is pretty damn fast considering the low specs. I have an older model Acer and overall am very impressed considering how much it was at retail (~$349). If you want to save a little money, call up your area stores (or stores as far as you're willing to drive) and see if they have any machines on clearance...a while back Best Buy clearanced a bunch of machines when Windows 8 came out because they came with Windows 7....and Windows 8 is horrible. :p

I don't know....acer? Never considered them. I would cough up an extra 50 and spec up a little. My daughter has a 300 dollar ASUS and has never had issues. She is 13 and DLDs everything.

ASUS K55N-DS81 Laptop Computer - AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M 1.9GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, AMD Radeon HD 7640G, 15.6 Display, Windows 8 64-bit at TigerDirect.com

THIS. I wish I had bought that...well okay maybe not... But still, great offer.

If I may chatter? Ode~ to the man Jeff. Way to young, and would have been a welcomed member here.

Sometimes failing is the only way to improve. A silver spoon day in and day out makes for atrophy of life. To go out there and give it your all and put yourself in an environment much larger than you could fathom to only fail will open your eyes no other way can. I feel like I have failed hard today, and if the feedback is true, this beast will howl at getting up and kicking assay tomorrow!!!!

RIP JH.

Yeah, asus is a great company. I'll be in the market for a computer that can handle massive amounts of gaming and can render images at a good pace since I'll be going to college for video game design. I'm looking at an asus right now but it'll cost me. You have to pay a good price to get a good computer and to me, this is worth it.

Of course you don't want to pay that much :p but at least it's not as steep as the one with the 256Gb solid state drive ;D ($1,500) I feel like I talk too much. :)

Then that's not what you want at all. I can tell you right now, you're going to want to get a desktop and just get a cheap laptop to take with you places. That graphics chip won't handle what you're wanting to do. You'll want to get something that has a dedicated card, the latest hardware...I don't think a laptop will suffice for you with what you're wanting to do, or it will be astronomically expensive.

There is truth in this.
