First device stories? I guess I'm up.

My love affair with Android began in a year I don't remember... The device? The Samsung Moment. Sprint's premiere Android device of yestercentury (or so it feels...) Was a lovely device. 3.5 - 4 inch screen (I don't remember), sliding qwerty keyboard, 800mhz processor... And I believe it started with either ?clair or Froyo. I loved that thing. I was the cool kid in school, because I was the only child in my private grade school to have a smartphone. I saved my money and wanted something with a touch screen. iOS was lame in my eyes back then, and it still is now. Sorry Chetan.

Eventually that device met it's end. So I picked up the OG Samsung Epic 4g. That phone I liked, except it had an annoying keyboard issue. It didn't last long before I got the GS2 Epic 4G Touch. THAT is a mouthful, and a pain to type. The GS2 was incredible and lasted me a year...ish. The camera on that thing is still one of the best available, and surprised me compared to GS3 shots...because believe it or not... They seemed better!

I love phones with great cameras. Which is why I was uncertain about buying the Galaxy Nexus. But I did, and I don't regret it at all. This guy has gotten me through h ell and back. The camera is good enough, although not a GS2. The trade off was Android updates, and it was worth it. 4.2.2 flies on this thing, photosphere rocks as well.

But soon there will be a new player in town. In two days I'm ordering an HTC One. Where that goes, well, we'll see.

Thanks for your time Chatter. I'm going back to being a stupid teen enjoying summer.

You want first device stories I'll give you a first device story. My story really begins before I even had a device it begin with me seeing the Droid Razr with everyone and everywhere people had this phone I was amazed by what it was doing and on the back of a droid razr what does it say "with Google" now for me I didn't really now what that meant at first but I knew I wanted one and I unfortunately ended up with the palm pro that phone didn't get used much at that point the palm market had already died but then I got the xperia play(which I consider to my first real device) which at the time was a good phone. My real first step in Android nerdery was with the looming ICS update coming but of course I didn't know Verizon's reputation for updating phones but beyond that Sony came up and said the day before the release of ICS for the Xperia Play oh yeah we can't update your phone. well that made me incredibly angry no matter I still loved that phone it after all was the only phone I had. I didn't know any different. Ever since that interaction even with a device like the Xperia Play I still loved Android and I knew that it was for me

My very first phone was a sprint flip phone. It was silver and had a camera and an antenna. I was like, 14. Had it for a week and for Christmas my mom bought me a sprint katana. It was like a mimic of the razr. I had it for a year or so, until I broke it and my mom had the line suspended. I went without a phone for a while until my mom switched to ATT. Got the Samsung black jack 2 in white/pink. Had it until my senior year. It was breaking in half. Eventually stopped recieving texts and all texts sent out had to be mms. Got a cheap Sony Ericsson flip to hold me over, eventually had that line suspended too. Didn't get another phone until my husband went away to basic, a simple little candy bar phone from cricket. T9. Had it until my husband graduated basic, went to straight talk for their black jack look alike. Had it for a few months and then bought the Nokia e71. Had it for a while, broke it, went to a flip phone. Had a flip phone (or a Few of them) until my husband came back from Iraq. In Feb of 2012 we bought two LG optimus q's from straight talk. First android phone. Had a slide out key board and an awful little plastic screen and battery issues. I had it for about 6 months, and then my husband broke it. Got an iPhone 3gs, had it for about 4 months until my son broke it, and then got a tmobile sidekick 4g that I had for about four months until I dropped it in the mop bucket on accident. At that point we decided to go on contract and get insurance. So here I am with a droid DNA.

My first smartphone?

I started off with the Blackberry Pearl from Sprint. It was a great intro device that didn't last long for me because my need for new phones started. After the BB Pearl, I had the BB Curve and then the BB Tour (all on Sprint). From there I went to the Samsung Moment. I effin loved that phone!! I wasn't fond of touch screens at that time so it was the perfect mixture of keyboard and touch screen.

From there I went like this: EVO 4G > Epic 4G > Motorola Photon > Epic 4G Touch > Galaxy Nexus > HTC One X+ (current phone)

I have this obsession that I need to have a new device every so often.....lol

Hmm. First device story. Let's see. My first phone was a slide up prepaid phone that ended up breaking due to it falling out of my pocket and slipping through a set of stairs and falling 2 stories to its death. Then I got a Sanyo Juno on another prepaid network (all my phone are on prepaid since my parents refuse to sign a contract) and I loved my Juno especially for its full keyboard. It was a great device and still lives to this day. Then I got my first Android device. It was the LG Optimus S. I fell in love with that phone and I had heard about rooting from a friend so I decided to look it up. That's when I found out about custom recoveries and Roms and thus began my adventure. That device lasted a while until I dropped it and it fell face first onto concrete and wouldn't turn on anymore. Then I was without a phone for a few months until I got the exact same phone. Except on virgin mobile which was an LG Optimus V and I had that phone for about a year (and still do) until I got the Htc one v. Which was a great phone as well. First phone with a glass screen and I loved it. I only had that phone for about 3 or 4 months until I found my beloved Evo V 4G for a really good deal and is my current phone and I love it to pieces. :)

When my 5 year old nephew asks the question "where do galaxies come from?" I feel good about the role I'm playing in his life...I have high hopes for the kid.

My first device was a Nokia prepaid phone, got it on my 18th birthday...it was the Glock of cell phones, that thing would work no matter what you put it through.
