I've sold my nexus. Buyer doesn't mind waiting til Thursday. I'm just hoping that I can find a S3 so I have a device. I use GPS and navigation on a daily basis. I've called everywhere in my area. Which is quite a bit of locations. I'm just hoping I can find a store that has one in stock. All i need is one . I might ask the boss for some time off so I can take care of business

GPS on the SGS III locks insanely fast. I've been getting locks under 10 seconds in the high-rise canyons of New York where my Galaxy Nexus sometimes took well over a minute (and sometimes as long as 10 minutes) to get a lock.

It also picks up more satellites than the Galaxy Nexus so you get greater accuracy. The SGS III also works with the Russian GLONASS satellites so that may be why it is locking on to more satellites.

Same here, I have no idea why I needed a new one but I didn't feel like botching the activation by messing around with SIM cards lol. Honestly the 4G activation was a breeze so it didn't bother me at all.

Anyway, who here who bought a GS3 or has one on order is rather pissed that we will be able to buy a "developer" version of the GS3 for $600? Don't know if it will be worth the $600 but I am very tempted to send mine back (since I paid retail for it) and get the Dev version whenever it comes out.

I'm gonna use the same one that's in my nexus. Being that I can't tell the associate that I need it activated for my line.

Well uhhhhhh... scratch that. Lol. I found an inactivated micro Sim card in my nexus box. I wonder where that came from (I really don't know):thumbup:

Its kinda dumb. Sounds like Motorola all over again. Think of it this way. Locks are meant for honest people. If you really want to get in,break in. Thus unlocking the bootloader. Granted we have to wait cuz I wouldn't know where the hell to start but good things come to those who wait. It'll be the same phone obviously, just without the workaround.

Return it and put that money aside for the S3 developer edition when it's available. It's the people who pre ordered for the subsidized price that are getting hosed.
