BTW, do you guys usually just DL a ROM/Gapps to your phone and then install? Or do you DL to your computer, transfer, and then install?

I've always used my computer but never just my phone. I didn't know if the phone would try to extract the zip or anything.

For me it depends on where I am, at home or work I download on the computer and copy the files over. Situation like this morning at the gf's I don't have a usb cable with me so I downloaded on the phone. Either works for me.

Either/or... doesn't make a difference. If I'm at my computer I'll download to it first.. then I'll usually open the ROM zip and do some minor changes like add in the blacked out Google Voice I use and switch out the MMS for blacked out one (though I haven't done that on JB since the MMS has been updated). Oh and I stick the CyanPing notification sound from CM9 in /system/media/audio/notifications because I think its boss, lol

I always download to my laptop and transfer the files over using the phone has always taken way to long and sometime fails.

If using TWRP you can have it in any folder on the SD... CWR might handle it as well but usually prefers to flash things from the root of the sd (not in any folders).

I usually move ROMs to the root of the sdcard from the download folder, it doesn't always matter what folder it's in but my download folder is a bit cluddered so I move the files I need.

On the phone is just goes to your SD card - download folded. No need to move it .

Edit - I always leave it there, cwm or twrp, never had a problem.

So far the dirty flash has seemed to work without any issues now time to flash some MOD's and I'll be done until 3.5 comes out in a few hours

BTW the T9 dialer has been working on 3.+ build for me.

I usually download directly to my phone. I keep a ROMs folder on my SD card and move the zip files there before flashing in clockworkmod. I don't like to have a bunch of crap in my downloads folder and this keeps my ROMs, kernels, and mods organized.
