[Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

So how's this for a pickle? In my new position I'm supposed to work no more then 38 hours a week if at all possible (any overtime has to be approved). Right now I'm scheduled to be working on the floor 38 hours which means any office work either doesn't get done or is done on overtime. To get me off the floor a bit I need to hire another worker or 2, but to do scheduling, or run interviews, I need to be off the floor. But to get off the floor, I need to hire someone, or rework the schedule so I can get off the floor. Buuuut if I'm already on the floor all of my alotted hours....I can't get any office work done unless it's in overtime (which they want to avoid if possible, partly to reduce overhead costs, partly because they don't want to overwork their employees) Ahhh the joys of being a team leader lol

I know what you mean about being on the floor and office work too.Thats kinda how it is for me.I actually prefer to be on the shop floor, usually doing office stuff last. But that just because I like moving around and not sitting at a desk all day.Sooo typical day for me is back and forth between doing shop floor stuff, truck driving, and office stuff .I usually get about 42.5 hrs a week since I open up shop every morning, but the first to leave in afternoon by about 10 minutes. :)

But I can approve my own overtime and to be fair I try not to have to much since things are still slow. I dont think 2.5 hrs is too much overtime.
Oh Happy Tuesday Chatterheads :) another rainy day (drizzle), with maybe freezing rain later tonight.

Re: [Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

2 articles (rough drafts) submitted to Android Coliseum, and 2 of the editors/chief contributors gave fairly positive feedback on them Just need to do some final proofreading and tweaks, get some pics, and submit the final drafts. My "interview" is how well the regular readers respond. If it's positive, I'm "hired"... Well I'm not getting paid because everyone contributes as a hobby, not a job.
Sneak peak: 1st article is a bit of an introduction and my history with smartphones. 2nd one is my take on Galaxy S4 vs LG G3. My likes and dislikes of each when compared side by side. And yes, when they go live I'll share the link.

You may not have heard enough from Ezio lately:

We do not need anyone to tell us what to do... We are free to follow our own path.

There are those who will take that freedom from us, and too many of you gladly give it.

But it is our ability to choose – whatever you think is true – that makes us human.

There is no book or teacher to give you the answers or to show you the path.

Choose your own way.

Do not follow me – or anyone else.
