Early birthday gift from a friend!

I sometimes wonder how many months/years of my life are being drained by the stress of driving in LA traffic. It took me over three hours on Friday to go about 60 miles. Yesterday it took me about almost 2 for the same distance...

Trust me...the Fricking traffic in the NoVA area and DC area is almost as bad.

I know exactly how you feel.

Also with all of the Drama that I deal with at the place I work, sometimes I wonder how I carry on from day to day.

Thankfully I live about a mile from work (we're officially a city, but at 13,000 people we rank as "town" to most people) so I walk it every day. Takes about 20 minutes, and most days its a great way to unwind on my way home. I can't imagine having to commute like that. I think I'd blow a gasket within a month!

I drive around 2500+ miles a week, and most metro areas are somewhere between bad to worse, but LA is a special kind of crazy.

Good thing I can usually drive and Zen at the same time.

My commute is only 6.5 miles one way and takes 12 minutes, it's the weekend excursions to LA that drive me nuts! When I lived in AZ in a town of about 50K, my work was 1.4 miles away and took about 4 minutes - three stop signs. I could bike it in about 8 minutes and walking took about 20 minutes. I used to walk when it snowed a lot, was good exercise😀

I've driven in NoVA area and concur with your statement. For years the joke was my two friends lived one exit away from the two worst interchanges in USA, one in Culver City from the I10 and 405 freeway and the other one on the I95 and 495 in NoVA area.

Yup LA traffic takes the cake. Once it took me 2 hours and 45 minutes to drive 40 miles from the LAX airport. My kid was three years old and completed a nap and we were still 30 miles away from home and this too on a Saturday....

Lunch :)
