If you follow my guide and the links provided (the OTA thread in the General section), yes, you generally don't need to worry about wiping data--they're factory updates/OTAs, no wipes required. You can always wipe cache/dalvik if it makes you feel better though.
The one posted on the second page or so, the "rooted" one...well..I'd wipe for that one, just cuz (although it'll make no real difference).

Thanks for the quick response! Last question is if I install this "test build" will it take me off the stock track, meaning if Verizon issued a final OTA of JB would I not be able to download it directly over the air from them?
