Yup it is .

Also,,,I am not sure how involved of the process is to get it all back to stock in case a replacement is needed either IF one was to unlock/root, where it wouldnt be detected it was ever rooted .Might be a PITA .

I think the wording is that rooting "may" void your warranty, not "will." So, let's say that you bring it in and the screen is messed up...not cracked, but like, from water damage or something. If they wanted to be dicks, they could say that they had no idea if it was from the water damage (even if the indicators were tripped) or because you rooted / custom ROMed your phone, so they don't want to replace it. If you have legit hardware damage, I wouldn't worry about it.

If it isn't asurion and you're sending it back to vzw. Make sure you unroot and get back to out of the box boring. I've sent a rooted thunderbolt back to vzw before. I didn't hear anything about it. I seriously don't think they have the time to pick at every device that gets sent back to them. I'm sure they act as a middleman and ship it right back to the manufacturer. Correct me if I'm incorrect
