Probably just going to get it taken in

Not necessarily a bad idea (some alternators are a real PITA to access - not sure about the Eclipse though, never worked on one). Personally, I don't trust most aftermarket alternators either. I've abused the snot (and that's putting it lightly lol) out of most of my stock ones, and have never had a single issue.

This Monster better work sooner than later.

Yeah if its a short /bad wire it could drive you nuts tracking it down without tools to check it with and money buying tools you probabaly wont use often too.

Once again ,2nd time in less then a week Time Warner is on the way to see if they can figure out what's going on with my cable signal.Hope they can get out right this time, and fixed before the game tonight.

yeah I would not want a phone any bigger then the ones I currently have either,;)

Have you guys seen the LG intuition? Android of course. Its just too big (that's what she said) it came out a few weeks ago. Any bigger than my s3. I might as well get a European shoulder bag for my N7. :D

Fail. If it was a Nexus, I'd own a Note. I love the size. It isn't utilitarian but the real estate... My oh my.

I see your point and raise you a personal factoid. I have my s3 in a ballistic case to whhhhich I carry in a nylon Velcro belt pouch. Now I couldn't imagine carrying anything bigger on my hip.

I understand screen real estate. That's the main reason I jumped on the S3. But come on. How big are these things gonna get? When I was a kid...lol. it was ideal to have a small phone.

If the battery is dead and the car is running, the alt will power everything just fine (including electronics), you just wont be able to start it without a jump. If it's a new battery, I'm doubting the battery is your issue. Sounds more like an alternator or connection issue.

False. In an older carbureted vehicle you can get away with it. Modern fuel injected vehicles pull too much amperage to run off of the alternator alone at full load. Oxygen sensors, throttle position sensors, they all need amperage to operate. You might make a little ways on the alternator alone, but you will kill a battery rather quickly if the alternator can't replenish it. End gearhead rant...

Apparently I stand corrected.

However, an alternator still needs to generate more current than is drawn on average or else you would kill the vehicle on long hauls. Instantaneously, the draw may be more than the alt can handle, but it absolutely has to be lower on average, no?

It is lower on average. You just can't go running around with the headlights on, stereo at full blast, and wipers going. I did that in an old Mitsubishi pickup that didn't originally have a stereo in it. Had to shut off one of the accessories in order to run the rest. :D
