[Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

I do think a shout out to AC is appropriate, if only because but for AC, no chatter?

Quite right! Brilliant my dear sir.

It would obligate you to purchase every Nexus device that comes out. Wonder when Google will launch the Nexus 9, Nexus 11, and Nexus 17? :D

Totally off the current topic, and I realize how nerdy this makes me sound, but it's really damn refreshing to be watching a TV show / movie that has a computer-centric story line and the screen images don't look totally fake / unrealistic, and the story lines reflect real potential scenarios instead of computer magic that simply doesn't exist.

It all good, Just sucks when we have voted and are on our way and you come in and say nah. I don't know, just seems cheep, but what the hell, voting B is lame, lets just vote A...But i am kinda done, not looking for a stamp. , the shirt needs to fall in line dammit, then we can talk members and threads...

Sitting up late doing a scratch install of Windows on my old laptop.. Just put a new hard drive in it cuz the old one took one to many spills from the kids banging it around...

Only bad part is starting off at Windows XP and slowly going thru the updates Service pack 2 then 3, then upgrading to Vista where it will finally be done....

Currently on Service Pack 3 update.....

Had to go hunt down drivers, etc... lots of fun.

Lol alright alright... ain't nothing wrong with a little, tasteful recognition of AC on the shirts, nobody said it has to be plastered in huge typescript :)

I go to bed early and you kids get all uppity around here :p

Vista was ok by SP3. XP just cant handle enough RAM any more, so it's basically unusable in my book. 7 is at least pretty decent.

XP was a solid OS. I had vista on my gaming machine for DX10 back when that was around but I had a dual boot with Windows XP. I would keep XP as long as you can but Windows 7 has been damn good to me.

7 is fantastic. I love it. It really can breathe life into older hardware the same way XP can.

Although I'm 99% Ubuntu now.

Can anyone name this?

It's time for trivia:D

its the least anyone can do in return to a forum that has been so good to its community.

Not saying we have to plaster AC all over it but a small little recognition is in order I believe.

I agree. Chatter is a part of AC. If I never came to AC, I never would be a chatterin. I still think a little Lloyd love on the shirt with Android Central or something near it would be tasteful, represent, and be kinda sweet cause I like Lloyd, lols.

Leave it on XP man.

Yea, that'd be a smart move. If you don't go to 7, stay on XP.

While I did not go to bed early, I wasn't posting on chatter last night much. And, when I read what I missed this morning, was thinking the same thing, lol.

Agreed. XP was way better than Vista, and, I was rocking it before I made the switch to 7 (skipped right over Vista). While XP was great, once a year like clock work it'd get all corrupt and you'd have to reinstall it. Never had those issues with 7. I am really impressed with it as an OS. But, at this point, you might as well just wait for 8 to come out and see if it's as solid.

Although I'm 99% Ubuntu now.

I tried to get onboard with Linux (Ubuntu flavor). But, after a year or so of banging my head against the wall with trying to do certain things that were easy as could be in Windows and involved WAY too much command line in Linux, I gave up (and, I'm a DBA, so, I code at work, it's not just that it was too hard for me). Also, I'm a PC gamer, so, that kinda made it not feasible. I know you can play some games on it, but, they don't run properly. And, they have to make them ready to run in Wine, so, not all of them will run, and, not right away. Thus, my box are Windows 7.

I don't play any games on my PC, beyond that, everything is as easy in Ubuntu as it is in Windows for me. Software Center actually makes it easier to find apps to do certain tasks than Google'ing them on a Windows box and dealing with fake shareware BS.

Yea, I mean, if I didn't game, Ubuntu would be more feasible, but, I was trying to do some things that weren't standard and it was just easier in Windows. I'm sure there are pros and cons of both, and, both are easier/better for certain things. I have just found that for what I need a computer for, Windows makes life easier, and, it does everything I have ever needed, in addition to being the OS that most software is made for.

Re: [Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

Mornin', Chatterites. Busy posting already - I love it.

Oh, and today: I'm officially crutchless! (Well, to be fair, I'm officially off them, but I carried one with me to work just in case my leg fatigues.)

Probably the part I liked most about XP is its very friendly when it comes to rooting and hacking. XP takes to the drivers very well just like Win 7 does... Vista was a fussy version that gave many people problems trying to root their phones. The One Click's didn't like to work with Vista ( not that I use One Click's.. I hate em ).

Ya I might leave it on XP as its for the kids to play games, you tube, home work , etc..
