Happy Friday. Anyone have Monday off?
I do!!
I am actually tried the game Torchlight 2 yesterday, not to bad, kinda like Diablo 3 but closer to what Diablo 2 was which could be good/bad. I don't know how long the demo for its lasts but for $20 price tag its a pretty tempting buy.
The first Torchlight was really good. I played the hell out of it. But, it was really only because I needed some D3 in my life. It could never fill the shoes of Diablo though. It's on my list of games to play, but, it's not that good that it'll ever bubble to the surface unless I need another hack n' slash. I may end up playing it one day whilst craving D4, but, unless we get another 11 year lull in Diablo game releases, I wont be playing it anytime soon.
Isn't everyday a holiday for government and bank workers?
No. I work for state gov. While I will say there are people here that don't work that hard, or, are incompetent, I don't know if it's that much more than in the private sector. I work in IT, so, it's easy to slack off when you want. And, since it's IT, there are also random lulls in productivity that are unavoidable. I work my ass off, and, my job is really hard and the analysis is so effing complex. I know it's easy to bash us, but, we aren't all stereotypes.
Additionally, while we do get more holidays then private sector, they are starting to take them away, and, some of us are underpaid. I came in at 20% less than what I should have been paid in private sector in exchange for stability and benefits. Now that is eroding and staying here is becoming less attractive. If our economy were doing better, it would look even less attractive.
Also, my Dad is a banker and from the stories he has told me, everyday is definitely not a holiday, lol.
