Update: nope. Can't get past the boot animation stock. This GNex appears to be royally borked.

Droid 2, here I come. This is going to be more painful that running a GNex stock. Pretty sure the digitizer is failing on it too. Double balls.

Update: nope. Can't get past the boot animation stock. This GNex appears to be royally borked.
a few weeks back I borked my Gnex. Bootloop to the animation, and either freeze there, or reboot until it froze.
I don't remember exactly how I did it but I used Wugg's to push the bootloader files to the phone, and after a few tries it actually loaded up enough that I could push the full factory image to the phone... and from there I've been good.
Mind you I didn't have the other problems you posted and it took me quite a while (and lots of smokes) before I got it to work... but I did. Maybe there's hope yet?
**EDIT** ADB wasn't working on my computer at the time, and ADB is still very much a foreign language to me so I tend to rely on automated tools
The adb pull worked fine, so I have my files from the phone. And everything was ok pushing stock over. It just wont get past the boot animation. Sometimes it doesn't even make it to the boot animation. Pretty much turns off at some point during the boot sequence every time. There is some hardware issue. Also, the phone smells a bit odd (musty maybe?), which is never a good thing for an electronic device. Something fried.

It's definitely not the battery. I'm certain enough that I'm not even going to test the phone with the gf's battery. Replacement phone is already ordered. Not really in the budget, but don't have a choice...
