I've heard about Xposed recently. Am I right in understanding that you gain a lot of Rom type benefits, without having to flash different Roms to get different functions?

Yep. The Xposed Framework 'exposes' many system APIs that are normally out of reach. The different modules let you do different things with these APIs... for instance, the transparent lockscreen settings or notifications expanded by default.

It's 6:30pm and my school district still doesn't have any news of a school closing tomorrow.... This superintendent is completely uselessly hopeless. We have a foot of snow and I'm supposed to anticipate school? Here's a picture of the snow about an hour in. The early dismissal was useless though. Teachers said there was no point of teaching.
