Whatever "tile" and "start screen" mean ....

Windows Phone used to only have solid color tiles on the start screen (where apps that are most frequently used are pinned).

The tiles shown here that do not include the elephant picture in the background are the ones that aren't transparent.

Custom images are new to Windows Phone 8.1. Previous versions only allowed the solid color tiles, not custom pictures.

It is strange, but the Google camera takes better shots on the x than the moto camera. Now just to re-add HDR and have it open by gesture.
