True, but the top 3 most valuable sports franchises in the world are soccer teams. And soccer boasts the largest fan base in the world. And 3 of the top 5 most recognizable athletes in the world are soccer players (Ronaldo, Messi and Beckham). Most kids all over the world grow up playing soccer because there is really nothing else to play. In America kids grow up playing any number of sports, most tend to play football, basketball and baseball. There is no doubt soccer is the most popular sport in the world...just not in America.

Some English lunatic called it soccer for no real reason and now those that really don't know better or just don't care call it like that, it's a shame!
And yes, the King!
No other sport in the world pulls so much people!
Let's see:
Here in the states they have fake football, where the ball spends more time on the hands. So they, conveniently keep on calling it football, there should be an international law against that!
And also here they want baseball to be the king of sports, some people even have the face to call it like that!
When football is played by more people and in more countries!
I think I went a little overboard but you get the point.
