If I like it, I'll cancel my Spotify subscription.I mean it's free(with google play music) ,so why not. my only concern is what type of revenue smaller content creators will see out of this whole deal

I'm really interested in it for music (both mainstream and indie) but by artists on recording labels and produced in a studio, not something a guy/gal recorded in his/her garage. So small content creators wouldn't matter to me, since I wouldn't watch/listen to songs that aren't professionally recorded.
Gotcha. Most of my YouTube usage isn't even watching videos. I typically just use it for listening to songs that happen to be uploaded. I figure if the subscription to GPM/YouTube Red is the same price as Spotify it's better since it includes more. I wouldn't pay for YouTube alone, since I don't use it enough. My Netflix and Spotify usage is much greater.my point was, it is affecting every single person who uploads and attempts to make money through youtube. music maker or not. which is why so much drama exists around youtube red
I don't like Taylor Swift anyway. Most of what I listen to isn't played on mainstream radio.I should say though, GPM, is incredibly nice, audio quality is near as my ears can tell, transparent. I haven't come across nearly anything they don't have. They don't have taylor swift. if that matters to you. But what they don't have is much much rarer than what they do.

For example, I'm listening to old blues on Spotify now.
