To be honest, I wish I remembered. It was '72, I'm somewhat surprised I can remember anything from that time period! I do remember the most memorable song of the night was Just Take a Pebble, they absolutely killed it.

One of my best friends knew Keith Emerson pretty well, some good stories. Tragic, but I understand.

I understand as well.

He never really did anything other than music, other than work as a bank teller for a short time when he was a teenager.

I'd have a hard time if I spent my entire life doing one thing, only to be unable to do what I loved any longer.

I played keyboards when I was in school, but I was never even 1% as good as Keith.

We do have his music, which will live on. As Keith said on the liner notes of Ars Longa Vita Brevis by the Nice, " Tomorrow is yesterday's history and art will still be there, even if life terminates."

He's probably happy. He got relocated to a rural area in the woods.

Got some new Android toys today to play with. I have about 8 days to decide what to keep and what to return to my source (who runs a website dedicated to Android)

Xiaomi Mi 5 - has Play Store and is on an International ROM
Xiaomi Mi Max - I will flash the international ROM on it tomorrow
Meizu Pro 6 - has Play Store on it already with a weird ROM - what a ripoff off the iPhone 6 though
OnePlus 3 Chinese Version - need to figure out how to replace the Hydrogen OS with Oxygen OS and install Gapps on it.

There are three other phones as well, one from Creo (India) and one from Bluboo and one from Leagoo...

Did your friend ever get a ride in a plane with Keith as the pilot?

I'd actually enjoy getting a ride in a small plane with any pilot who knew how to fly the plane. It looks like it would be a lot of fun.

Ahh...the venerable Technica...had one too!!! I think I gave it to my cousin...he has all the albums these days.

I got rid of my cassettes, but I kept the LPs that I didn't trash in my youth.
