cheaper replacement power cable?

I'm running CM7 off SD card n when i'm using this OS, I can charge with any mirco charger. When I'm in the stock OS, my NC will only charge with the org. USB micro cable. I also have to use this cable when I plug the NC into my PC, it doesn't recognize generic USB cables.

Strange. I have a basic micro USB that I've had hooked to my PC for the past 3 phones and it also connects to my NC. I've only had 1 cable which didn't charge, but it ended up being a bad cable altogether.

Yes, but again...... more pins carrying current to the Nook to charge it. Without the extra pins the Nook will charge at a slower rate. If you attempt to use a standard cable and a more powerful charger to push additional current through less pins you run the risk of frying the device.
