Check voicemail from landline

I was wondering how to check my voicemail from a landline. I assume this can be done, but I can't seem to figure out how. My cell is no longer ringing ~ everything is going straight to voicemail (along with a few other issues) and when I try to call voicemail from my cell, it disconnects me. I need to reset my phone to factory but I have now missed 11 phone calls and I don't want to lose the voicemails by resetting until I can listen to them in case the calls were important.
