I only got my Nexus for Xmas a couple of days ago but since then I have been getting messages saying "the page at ........ Says: check your android now for a virus!" every so often, maybe a couple of times a day, when going to any website. This strikes me as blatantly some kind of scam. Anyone else get this?

They're just annoying ads for (perhaps questionable) apps.

My wife kept getting those messages on her RAZR HD... Installed avg but it found nothing harmful

Don't listen to them at all. Unless you are going to shady sites and downloading even shadier files, you should be fine. However, there are anti virus apps on Play, many are free. If you want that as a peace of mind, go ahead.

Funny, I got one the other day on my Nexus 10 which said "Your Nexus 10 battery is dangerously low and needs attention." Guess anything for a buck.....

Just wait till those fbi fake warnings start appearing on android. If android can ever get affected by those same viruses that affect pc's that will suck.
