"checked" notification when selecting email

how do i turn this off? recently, i havent changed any settings, but maybe by accident a finger press when taking out of pocket.
Whenever i select an email(mark it) it says 'checked' loudly. Only for this though, i dont get audible notifications for anything else.

Talkback is off..
not just got gmail but even other emails in 'email' app

if you or anyone else has figured this out, please let me know. i also have the same problem with the stock internet app "loaded started/page loaded" notifications. talkback is off. thanks.
