checking for updates

[Android Central Question]

Hey I just bought the all new Nokia 7 from China which is updateable to the newest version of android but has the previous one. After powering it on and setting some stuff its stuck on the checking for updates for like 1 hour. I cannot skip this step and the WiFi that it's connected is fine. Help please

Totally agree, Have been testing some of the Nokia phones lately and had this on a couple. Restarting seems to fix it for me.
