ust as the title asks, how does everyone check their notifications quickly. I'm running Nougat beta 7.1.1. like most people here are as well. I tried ambient display, but it doesn't work consistently enough, i tried the Movies gesture of lifting your phone up off a surface, and that works a little bit better, however I'm just soo used to clicking the power button and I can feel it very well since it's textured. I just wanted to hear what everyone else opinion here is.

Ambient display. It's worked reliably for me... Just pick up the phone and there it is.

I have found that sometimes when you're holding the phone in your hand, then you raise it up again to look at the screen, it doesn't highlight up again. That's what I am mostly talking about. Thank you though.

Turn the phone over and then back and it usually works. That gives the sensor a chance to do it's job

That works pretty well. I've actually gone back to lite flow LED controller. It's much easier for me to tell which notifications I have.

Yeah... Google uses the significant motion sensor, with a deliberate timeout to avoid false positives and having it fire constantly. I have an old Moto G and that goes off of you look at it... Not the most efficient.

Yeah I mean the lifting to raise the phone to check notifications did work a bit bigger than ambient display, however, like I said, when holding the phone, sometimes it just didn't kick the lock screen in automatically, which for frustrating for me over time. lite flow LED controller works perfectly for me.

LED indicators, ambient display (though it's hit or miss - if it's in my car in it's holder, ambient display comes on every 10 seconds or so it seems, but not when I move the phone to look at it, etc.), and just using the power button.

Still on 7.0 though.

I gotcha. Yeah for me the ambient display works in but the LED controller works sooo much better!
