Chinese head unit update

Lots of boards are manufactured in Thailand for third party builders. It's all about who is buying them and what they do with them. I understand the price is hard to turn down but they also have to turn a profit.
And as @B.Diddy said this is usually by offering no support whatsoever or spyware or malicious software. I mean they litarlly paid some guy to write software for the board and that is it. Ties cut, he or she is off to the next job.
Hi these pictures of the version

Why are you so concerned about updating the firmware in the first place? Phones are one thing, but Android devices for things like radios really have no reason to need updating.

Do you know why I'm asking coz my phonelink app is not working properly. Can you help me with that if possible. What should I do.

If that app is proprietary to that brand, then you'll need to contact them for assistance. But like we have said, you are not likely to get any help from them because they typically don't support their products. They are cheap for a reason.

That's why I usually suggest you just cut your losses and look into replacing it with a name brand traditional radio. You can get them with Android Auto capabilities if needed, but that is not the same as being an Android radio. Not to mention you'll also get better sound quality.

I'm partial to Pioneer and JVC, but there's also Kenwood, Sony, and Alpine in the top tier category. Jensen, Boss, and Dual are cheaper mid-tier options, but may have lesser features and durability. Each brand will have a wide range of options for most budgets. Crutchfield.com is a great resource for helping you narrow down your options, but I think they are primarily a US based company. If you are from outside the country, they would still be a good educational source and then you can buy locally.

Thanks a lot. Thank you for helping me. Have a good day.
