I don't own any Android devices, but I'm considering purchasing the Sony Xperia Z tablet to replace the iPad2.

I looked at the Xperia Z and my friend's older Asus Transformer Prime TF201, and on both I found that the browsing experience using Chrome isn't as smooth as on my iPad. Is this normal? Is there a better browser to use on the Android tablets?

There are a number of other 3rd party browsers available. Some of the more popular ones are Dolphin, Boat, Opera, and Maxthon. They all have their respective advantages. Dolphin might be a little faster than Chrome, but probably not by much.

How were you comparing Chrome on the Android tablets with Chrome on the iPad? Was it all on the same wife connection?

I use Chrome as my browser of choice on my W7 pc, my ipad and my new S4. I find it works well. My only 'beef' is that on S4 it seems to only sync the bookmarks from my pc and there is no way to import them. Guess that may be an advantage because I have to be online to use them anyway.

You can't compare Chrome on iPad with Chrome on Android. The problem is that the iPad version of Chrome is a Safari skin with some Google features built into it like device syncing.

With Chrome on Android you get a full fledge browser.

On the speed issue, I had stuttering on Chrome on my S4, that went away when I switched to Chrome Beta.
