Chrome Notification Icon Won't Clear

I have had my N7 since July 20th and to this day the notification bar displays the chrome icon and the words "chrome sync: password required." In all other regards the tablet works fine, but I am unable to clear that notification. Any ideas?

You may want to try checking that your Nexus 7 Chrome has the same setup as your desktop Google Chrome browser - i.e. check if the bookmarks are identical .. .... that they were sync'ed..

You may have had a failure during the initial tablet install process..."When
a series of screens takes you through the setup process. When prompted, you can sign in using the email address and password for your Google Account. When you sign in with a Google Account, all the email, contacts, Calendar events, and other data associated with that account are automatically synced with your tablet."
