Chrome wont let me download photos/gifs

So, whenever I download a photo/gif from chrome on my phone it won't save but if i use another app like Pinterest, Tumblr, Facebook etc it works? I use a ZTE lever Android z936l lollipop phone.

What is the exact wording of any error message?
Where are you trying to save to?
