Chromecast button disappeared from Chrome and Netflix -- driving me nuts!

I have a Oneplus 3 and recently the Cast button vanished from Netflix and Chrome. I have restarted the device multiple times. I have reinstalled the Google Home (former Cast) app. No success. The Cast button is still there in Google Music and YouTube, is only missing from Netflix and Chrome. What could be going on?

I read a few reports about this same issue and for most people signing out and back in did the trick, at least with Netflix. Have you already tried this?
