Chromecast on multiple wifi networks

A sort of work around this is if you have a laptop and can find the mac address of the chromecast you can set the mac of most wireless cards in most laptops today, gain the authority needed and then remove the MAC address from the laptop and chromecast should work. I travel heavy bringing a small wireless router everywhere I go. Some nicer hotels, your Hiltons and Marriotts, still provide a wired ethernet jack which I use to just plug in your router there and agree to the internet terms through your laptop or phone connected through the router and then it allows all devices access because the hotel only sees the 1 MAC address of the router itself.

Why not convert an old smart phone into a wifi hot spot? you can create your own network independent of any others and not worry so much about having to reconfigure the device every time you change networks.

If you want to connect your Chromecast to a hotel TV, what you need is a RAVPower FileHub (or other devices like it, although this was the best reviewed device when I bought it). It's basically a portable router/NAS. You can connect the FileHub to the hotel wifi or a hotspot to have internet access then connect all your devices including the Chromecast to the FileHub network. It's a pretty amazing little device for not much money.

If you're going to a hotel it won't work (I was hoping it would). According to Google if the wifi requires an authorization screen Chromecast won't work. Disappointing but I can understand.

I use mine in hotels all the time. You have to first connect your phone to the hotel internet then turn on your hotspot and select share WIFI connection. You will connect the chromecast to your phones WIFI.

You can get a cheap $20 travel router and bypass this limitation. I did just that. But of course now you need to understand how to use your travel router.
