Chromecast Only Available to Google Apps

Just realized that my Chromecast, after being properly set up in Google Home is working with YouTube but not any other apps like Netflix, HBOGO, Showtime, etc. When I press the cast button in any non Google app, my device does not show up for selection. However, in YouTube, I hit the cast button, and the device pops right up and casts.

Side note, I'm having trouble with other Google apps on the S9. Chrome keeps crashing, and the Gboard does not send it's GIFS, Bitmoji's, etc. from the keyboard like it's supposed to... Is Google just dropping the ball with this new phone?

Try Google Home - that casts the phone to Chromecast. The entire phone. No matter what app is running.

Mine let's me cast anything I want. Spotify, Fox sports go, MLB at bat, Netflix.
