Hi,

Every time I send audio to Chromecast, turns on my TV. The Chromecast is connected to a Sony AV Receiver. Is there any way to disable HDMI CEC in Chromecast?

Thanks!

I don't remember seeing a cec setting for the Chromecast. You could switch it off in the TV if you don't need it for other kit. It's called Bravia link or sync on a Sony BTW.

Maybe you could disconnect the cec wire in the Chromecast HDMI link cable? It's pin 13 according to Wikipedia.

Better still (I just looked it up) you can buy a 'Lindy HDMI CEC less adaptor' on eBay. That should do the job.

But there's a very useful feature you'll lose if you do that. An update earlier this year enabled support for pause/play so you can pause the Chromecast using the TV remote.

Thanks for your help!

I don't want to loose CEC features, because I also have a raspberry pi with Kodi installed and I'm controlling it using HDMI CEC.

It's not a major issue, I was guessing if there is some way to disable HDMI CEC only in Chromecast, but seems not possible :(

Like I said, it is possible, just buy the CEC-less adapter from ebay and use it to connect the chromecast. It just has no connection on pin 13 and so no CEC which is what you want.
