Anyone ever have any issues with CM eating through battery life at a fast clip? After a month with my S7, I have just started to notice less battery life over the past 24-48 hours. No new apps installed, no usage changes on my part, nada. Looks like CM is using a lot of battery (this, from an app that's supposed to help save battery life). I've wiped the cache partition and basically have done everything short of a factory reset. Just wondering if anyone else has seen CM using a lot of battery.

Not having that issue, no .. but you should kill that app with fire. Using CM and like apps is one of the worst things to do to a phone other than throwing it on the ground or kicking into the ocean.

Wow...I had no idea. Ok, force stopping----deleting data-----and uninstalling now. Thank you!

Cm is an evil app and you can do untold harm "cleaning" functions in phone that need to be running. Run away......

Then, what's the best way to "clean" your phone?

Clear cache partition (no 3rd party apps needed)
Uninstall unnecessary apps
Use wrapper (browser) apps for social media instead of memory hogs like the Facebook and Twitter apps
Don't use task killers (CleanMaster and anything similar is garbage)
No antivirus is needed. (Malwarebytes is a good one if you really want one without slowing down the phone. Do not use 360 Security - Garbage)

Use "Smart Manager". You will find it in "Settings". You can use it to clean 'Storage', 'Ram' and 'check battery'. In 'Storage' it will give you the opportunity to delete all unnecessary data. In 'Ram' it will end all currently running apps including background apps. It is a Samsung Feature and will cause no problems. Like everyone else who posted here, I would advise you to get rid of CM and stay away from it and ALL apps like it.

And I'd try to avoid any and all temptations to clear RAM. RAM should be left alone.

Clean master is from cheetah mobile! That organisations is evil, they have no regard for your privacy and shamelessly collect and sell your data. There is much info about them on the net. Yes, fb, google, MS all do that also but with a bit more restraint... research cheetah mobile and make your own conclusion.

I agree. I had CM apps on my S4 and it was a battery and resource hog. It even interfered with my SMS. Get rid of anything by Cheetah Mobile.

Delete it, block it, burn it. Get that app out of your phone and never use it again. Clean master sounds promising, but in all seriousness uses up resources like you won't believe causing the exact opposite as to what it promises to do. Same goes for any battery saver app that can be downloaded from the Play Store.

The problem with these apps is that Google Play doesn't scan their apps like Itunes does. Why? Because Android is technically an open source program that can be edited or modified by any developer. This means that someone can easily create anything malicious, call it an app, and put it on the Play store. Google has gotten better in recent years, but there are still some out there like Clean Master.

The best way is manually, clear your cache by going into the storage settings and tapping clear cache, delete apps you never us. Also back up info, do not trust anything to "automatically back up your info for you". Go into your phone and do something with the 123902834098234 photos that you may have. Don't leave all of them on your phone. Move them to somewhere like Google Drive instead.
