Android Central Question

Recently I noticed that something in category "other" takes up a huge chunck of storage space on my huawei p9 light. I tried to find it via file explorer but no luck. I tried a few cleaning options, installed google files and in the end even factory reset my phone - that did erase my personal files and application data although it did not uninstall apps that I installed. But the 6 GB of "other" are still there. Any suggestion would be immensly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Keep in mind that just because the data is in the "Other" category doesn't mean it's expendable.

Social media and messaging apps can build up a huge cache, so if you use apps like Telegram, kik, or Twitter, see if they have large caches.
