clearing maps history in Google maps

I read the article by Andrew regarding clearing the Maps history in Google maps, but since he hasn't turned on commenting I can't ask the question underneath the article.

My question is this. I open Google maps, go to settings, click on maps history , wait a moment and all it does is take it back to settings. Maps history never opens up.

It's working for me. Have you tried clearing Maps' cache?

Same issue here and I tried clearing the cache and data as well as uninstalling to original version and updating yet nothing fixed it. Also wiped the phone cache.

Mine says trouble connecting, but stays in the settings menu. I have full signal strength when I check.

You may need to go into the Google app itself and clear cache and then data if clearing cache doesn't work. It is kind of a pain, because you have to set some things back up, but it should reset your Google apps without having to do a hard reset.
