Clearing notifications on Z3

Before I "updated" to lollipop (big mistake) whenever I had a notification on my Z3 I could swipe down from the top and press clear. Not surprisingly this would clear my notification. However lollipop doesn't seem to want me to do this and I have to tap the notification and open the app it is referring to. Guess what I don't want or need to do this everything time. Is there a way I can clear these notifications.

You can swipe the notification to the left or right, and that will clear it.

I don't have a Z3, but is there a small series of lines at the bottom on the right of the notification shade? If you have it, that is a clear all button (apps that are set up for constant notifications, i.e. weather, will stay).

Thanks for that, of course it was so much more obvious than having a button that said clear.:-\
