Clicking/popping sound coming from speakers

Anyone else getting a series of clicks or pops from the speaker when the phone's ringtone or other notification sound fires? Doesn't do it during music or other audio playback, just on notifications. I first noticed it when I uploaded a music file for my ringtone, but I switched back to the built-in ringtones (even "NONE") and I still get the series of pops when the phone rings or I get a text message.

I have the exact same issue but only when on phone calls. I haven't discovered what's causing it yet.

I spent a couple hours on the phone with ZTE, doing various resets and flushes, and the problem goes away temporarily and then returns. ZTE says they can't do anything else but offer to replace the phone.

I had this problem the first day I had my phone listening to music and video. It went away completely after a few hours and haven't had a problem since. Guess I got lucky.
