The Android OS itself utilizes a clipboard for cut, copy and paste. Each time you add a new item to the clipboard it erases the old item. You should be able to copy from outside of Gmail and paste it into a Gmail message.
Just switched from Samsung and you could actually lock items in the clipboard so they didn't get deleted. I always have to send a lot of repetitive work emails so it made it super easy. Thanks for the reply and the info
There are tons of apps that will allow you to do that. One example is Clipper - Clipboard Manager https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.rojekti.clipperJust switched from Samsung and you could actually lock items in the clipboard so they didn't get deleted.
