Clock and notification blind gone

The tablet has been working flawlessly up till this evening when I turned it on... The upper bar is completely gone! No clock, no battery status, no notification blind at all. When I swipe down, it invokes the lock screen, telling me to swipe to unlock. I've rebooted the tablet and wiped the system cache. Is there anything else I can do aside from an FDR?

Does that also happen in Safe Mode? The steps for the S3 should work for the S4 as well.

I just remembered I downloaded Good Lock 2018 and fiddled with some settings therein. It came highly recommended for the Note 9, but I wonder about its compatibility with a tablet.
