Clocks keep going out of synch

[Android Central Question]

Hi i've experienced this problem for a long time now with Android 7 across FOUR different phones. My clock on the lock screen always seems to be accurate however my widget clock and the clock in the top right corner and the clock in the top left corner of the menu bar display different/incorrect times. I have searched and searched for a fix but cannot seem to find one. I thought I had found the fix when I uninstalled the google calendar app, as all the times corrected and it was fine for months however the issue has recurred, I have tried wiping the clock cache, setting it to manual, restarting the phone. All of these work for a time but then the issue comes back. Like I have mentioned I have had the issue across 4 android 7 phones, so I do not think the phone is the issue however Android 7 itself could be.

I would be really grateful for any help.

Are you always on 3g? Is your phone switching from 3g to 4g when this happens? Do you go onto a different wifi occasionally, near the timing of the event occurrences? And again, does your clock icon show the correct time or the wrong one like now?

Yes I am always on 3G. No my phone is permanently set to 3G. No I have not been out my house all day so connected to the same wifi. If I click onto the clock app it shows the correct time, if I go into settings and see what the time is set to - it shows the correct time.

I am stumped. Unless your local cell tower is transmitting this wrong info, in which case others would have the same problem, and you are not rooted, I do not know. Good luck and post the solution if you find it.

What I would like to know is the source that the different clocks get their time from. The lock screen is always correct. The widget and top left corner of the menu clock always seem to show the same time - even when they are wrong, The clock in the top right seems to do whatever it wants. Amazing all the things these phones can do but then can't even tell the time properly. I had a Nokia 3310 that could accurately tell the time.

Well I never found a proper answer for this problem. I restart my phone every other day, which isn't a big inconvenience, to prevent this happening now. My alarm has never failed me and my lock screen always displays the right time so the problem is not the end of the world, merely irritating.
