Clockwork Recovery for the Continuum

That's pretty cool. I'm hoping to see this community grow a lot more. The Continuum has great hardware... and it should be modified just as much as the rest.

I already enjoyed doing small things to it like DeBinging it. Although I noticed that the actual browser app always takes you back to bing.... I couldn't find that same i5000####BingSearch thing like ya'll did in the Fascinate...

i havnt even looked into debinging it, i have just been using it stock, i use it as my main phone since im always using my fascinate for package making....but the continuum is super close to the fascinate, so most roms for the fascinate should work with the continuum with just a little tweaking

That's what I thought. They seem so similar. I'm excited about these two phones. Do you know anything about a Froyo update for the Continuum... as well as the other Galaxy S phones?

well we dont have a leak for the continuum but we running froyo on the fascinate, so i think if i can get adrynalyne a phone he may be able to port it over.....as far as official froyo continuum will probably get it shortly after....by the way the debloated version is debinged

Hey I just rooted my phone, I'm in blue recovery and I am trying to click update.zip but I don't know how to click it!? Can anyone help?

Ok the camera button worked but the update.zip failed everytime. When the phone first goes to blue there are yellow letters on the bottom that say update.zip gone. Very strange.

after you flash cwm with odin you need to immediatly go into recovery , otherwise the stock kernel replaces the clockwork kernel

so pull out your battery plug your phone in and press the volume down button , this will put you in download mode,,,then flash the clockwork file with odin after its done pop the battery back in and immediatly boot into recovery and apply update.zip

Sounds like a job for Braydon haha he helped me with my fascinate the other day I'm actually screen sharing with my friend right now and trying to hook up his continuum a little bit. The one click root for the fascinate worked like a charm on it, but now the CWR is where we're stuck.

it will work with braydons way, im the one that helped him develop it, the cwm for the fascinate and continuum are different, but the process should be exactly the same, so what needs to happen is the odin file needs to be opened and the zImage needs to be taken out and replace the one in the 1clickcwm method. also we will need to replace the continuum kernel and it should work... ill see if i can work with braydon and get it done for the conitnuum

thanks , but please watch the language,,,, i will work on this with braydon when i get a chance and get back to you

I'm currently working to fix the button mapping in recovery. I think I have them all fixed, so the next thing to do after testing is create the update.zip file. After that, I'll look into creating a recovery kernel that boots straight to CWM rather than having to use update.zip from stock recovery.

link broken

The update.zip link is broken. It directs to a 404 page on the site. Is there anyway i can get a hold of it?

[EDIT] I think i found the newest release found HERE. All it took was a little snooping around.

New CWM update.zip file. Like we did for the Fascinate about a month or so ago, I'm going to try to get everything moved over the CWM 3.x and Edify Scripting. Here is a new update.zip file to be able to use the most up-to-date version of CWM. I'll also try to keep this file updated as Koush and the rest of the CM team update CWM.

Instructions
1. Download me
2. Rename file to update.zip and put it on the root of your SD Card, overwriting the previous update.zip
3. Boot to recovery and apply update.zip

I may give replacing stock recovery entirely again another shot as well, eliminating the need for the update.zip entirely, but no promises. Also note that nandroid backups made with the previous update.zip file will not work with this version of CWM. If you like having the nandroid backup available, redo your backups so you have them for the new CWM.

A special thanks to you guys (imnuts, adrynalyne & Trailblazer101), for all of the time, hard work, trials & errors and great contributions you put forth to the SCH-i400...
