I flashed to the newest CWM (3.0.2.5) and when I try to reboot into recovery, it gives me a list, but I can't selected or do anything. I've read that I need to flash an older version. I just rooted the phone today, so I'm not exactly sure where I need to go and what I need to do when I get there. I downloaded the CWM 2.5.1.2 image and put it on my SD card, but that's as far as I got.

I've seen this issue posted a few times over at xda. It seems the easiest thing to do at this point is to flash the latest rooted stock rom and radio through bootloader and go from there. The file does a full wipe and clean install of the latest rom and radio and can be had over at xda. Just look for attn1's Ace_Cingular_US rom. Be sure to download the one with sideloading enabled. Basically it just involves downloading the zip file and ckecking the integrity of it, placing it on the root of your SD card, turning of fastboot in the settings menu and powering down, booting into h-boot (power button + volume down), and accepting the update. Once that is done, go to the market and download the latest rom manager and flash the latest recovery if needed.
