CM7 back to stock with a change?

I am running the latest CM7. Tired of all the little issues, and was thinking that I would like to return to stock... However, with stock there is still the issue that made me decide to root in the first place.

So, here's the question. Can I return to stock, and get rid of HTC People and dialer, and run just the plain Google contacts and dialer?

Plus get rid of a bunch of bloat. (That's a separate issue that I thin should be easy enough to handle.)

Yes, there is a Sprint Lover's ROM out there that keeps the ROM as stock as possible with all the bloatware removed. The thread even gives you the APK files incase you wanted to download some of the Sprint apps such as NASCAR and Sprint TV. If you search for it you should be able to find it.

But, I really want to return to stock (OTAs available, support, etc). But, I really DO NOT LIKE HTC People. And want to run straight Google Contact & dialer. I can't see enough info on the ROM listing to tell me how there issues are handled.

Ideally, I think returning to stock, removing HTC People and dialer then adding Google stock ones in place would work great. Can that be done?

You can do that by using a app like root explorer or file expert. You would need to go into the system files and find which APK file you want to remove. I would highly recommend backing those files up on your computer or SD Card incase something doesn't work right. After removing those files, you should be able to install the ones you want to use.
