Just installed it with the MR2 radio. Working great so far, and what a UI improvement over the stock Froyo/Sense!

No GPS when I needed it...Ahhhhhhhh... trying to find how to get to a party yesterday.... I guess I'll going to stick with Das BAMF until this becomes a little more baked.

That is the MAIN reason I am DLing another ROM to try right now. I need my gps for work... However, as usual, I did alot of reading at XDA about the GPS issue and alot of people redownloaded it and did another full wipe/cache/dalvik and some have had luck with gps... good luck... I just posted another ROM for people to try. it looks promising. and it is very lean!!! ;)

Sometimes it takes forever the first time you load a rom. I would wait a minimum of 15 and max of 25 min for it to load. If it does not load, pull the battery, then replace it, and boot back to recovery mode (volume down and power held together). This will take you to hboot, where you select recovery and press power.

Then, reflash the rom if you choose or restore a nandroid backup. The rom should work if you reflash it = just make sure to wipe data, cache partition, and dalvik cache, and for good measure, format system under mounts.

Otherwise, the file could be a bad download, so try to dl again, and check md5 if available.

I am reflashing now, i will try the wipe data's and cache partition if it does not load this time. i was afraid to do that stuff before in fear of wiping my backup from rom manager. in case this doesnt work how do i load that back up?

That option to wipe data and cache only applies to the phone's memory, not your sd card. Your backups from rom manager are stored on the sd card also. So no need to be afraid of doing this in the future.

Well, I rooted this morning and am already running CM7. Now, it feels just like my Dinc, except for the nice large screen and the occasional flash of 4G. What goodies would you guys recommend to make CM7 better than it already is (like, where can I get Talk with video calling?)

It was almost 2 weeks! I might try one of the sense 3.0 roms but I am heading on vacation next week and want better battery life, so I turned to CM7 as my first choice. Of the 3.0 ROMs, which one would you suggest?

I like the das bamf sense 3 roms - been using Rc4 the last few weeks, and i will probably flash rc 4.9 later tonight. Bamf roms have the das bamf toolkit - which has easy tweaks, cpu settings, etc - it's very convenient - lets you cut down on the app/widget clutter (like delete set cpu) ! Seems to make things go a little smoother, but maybe that's in my head.

KDKobes (at xda) has a sense 3.0 rom which is a varient based on the bamf teams sense 3 rom - haven't tried it yet but might get around to it.

Anyway good luck with cm7 i'm sure it's awesome. I kept my dinc, even tho it doesnt have service, and it still runs on nightlies. But, i hardly ever turn the thing on, bc of the tbolt + 4g.

Wheres the vacation to btw? if you dont mind my asking

I may have to give bamf a go. It's kinda fun to have a whole new ROM scene again, although there is a lot of unexpected drama over at xda that I don't have any backstory on. Luckily, I don't care to find out...

I'm heading on a Midwestern tour. My wife and I have family in Quincy and Bloomington, IL, St. Louis, and Kansas City, so we will be doing a quick rotation through there. It should be a pretty good time, though it sounds like it'll be pretty warm.

awesome. yeah i could care less about melodrama at xda. that's pretty much the last thing i think about before i go to bed at night, haha jk.

anyway, the bamf roms are awesome. they have lots of features enabled that are really a league above other roms - the toolkit is incredible.

Enjoy the vacay! i was hoping to get away this summer for a week before i start school in the fall, but it doesnt look like a go. Anyway, never been to st louie or bloomington, or kc for that matter, but it sounds like a cool trip. !
